STORM MAKES SENSE OF SHELTER, 2025
6”x12”
Locally sourced clay, bluetooth audio player, field recording
The clay for this vessel was sourced from land at the foothills in Altadena that burned in the firestorm of January 7, 2025. The night the fires started I turned my recording device on and let it run until the batteries died. It took me months to listen to it. The howling wind becomes even more haunting when echoing in the earth vessel. This piece is meant to be experienced while held so the viewer/listener can share an intimate and contained moment with the force thatchanged so many of our lives in Los Angeles.
